Review of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire
Certainly no one will be surprised to learn that nowadays players have a lot to choose from when it comes to games. It's a great way to get to know the game, but as it turns out, there are still very few games with a really interesting story. Therefore, many people will be happy to know that the circle of excellent role-playing games has been joined by another. This time it is Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. Of course, a few reservations about the game can be had, but nevertheless the producer has nothing to be ashamed of.First of all, it should be noted that the game has a lot of difficulty levels, choices and endings. And this is what makes it undoubtedly not a game that you can play once.
In the land of the truly human gods
The game starts off very strong. Right from the outset, it transports the player into the magical world of the hereafter, the place between life and death. This is where the souls of the game's protagonists return to the world, but in completely different bodies than before. Exactly such a fate will meet our chosen hero, whom we decide to direct. The second part is very strongly plot-wise connected with the first. What binds both parts is the main character who returns to the world of the living.
The player chooses his features, both external and character traits. At the beginning we'll have to move around the crumbling boat, and our task will be to discover the plans of one of the gods, who sows destruction, having fun at the same time. God, Eothas, is well known to those who played the previous installment of the game. In this case, however, the game has a much more developed storyline, which is convoluted, but also interesting. At the same time, the game was constructed in such a way that people who have not played the first part do not have any problem with finding themselves in the plot.
In the game, those who have previously reached for the first part will meet many familiar characters. What is important, however, is that the meetings are completely random. We run into old friends, completely unsuspecting. As a result, we are genuinely surprised and, at the same time, pleased. They bring us their stories that have taken place in the meantime. What are the advantages of the game? First of all, it is a fantastic graphics, from which it is difficult to take your eyes off. In addition, there are interesting characters who spin stories that are really fascinating. We can not forget about the fairy-tale opponents and many side quests to perform, which perfectly diversifies the game. What about the downsides? For sure, it is a rather poor control of the ship.
